Disable Automatic Hyperlinks in Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007

If you can not stand the automated hyperlinking in Microsoft Word, you may be hard-pressed to find the ideal location to disable it in Office 2007, since all the setups are hidden so well compared to previous variations.

Update: We have a newer variation of this write-up that covers Word 2013 and also up.

Disable in Office 2003

Simply most likely to Tools AutoCorrect Options AutoFormat As You Type and also uncheck “Internet and Network Paths”.

Disable in Office 2007

To disable in Word 2007, you’ll need to click the Office Button in the top right-hand corner.

After that pick Word Options from the bottom of that food selection.

On the left-hand pane pick Proofing, and afterwards the AutoCorrect Options button.

Then on the “AutoFormat As You Type” tab, uncheck “Internet as well as network paths with hyperlinks”.

This need to do away with the issue.
