Pressure Outlook 2007 to Download Complete IMAP Items

After covering how to setup Gmail IMAP in Outlook, I’ve gotten a lot of comments from users questioning exactly how to make Outlook download the entire message instead of just the headers. You’ll have to navigate via a complicated set of food selections, but it’s really fairly straightforward.

Keep in mind: If you have 500 million messages in your Gmail inbox folder you need to think strongly regarding not enabling this, since it will certainly take merely for life to download them all.

From the Tools food selection pick Send/Receive, Send/Receive Settings, and then Define Send/Receive Groups. Or you can simply hit the Ctrl+Alt+S shortcut essential instead of browsing the ridiculous food selections.

This will certainly raise the Send/Receive Groups dialog, which has some intriguing choices that aren’t pertinent below. Pick the Edit button rather.

Virtually there … now click your IMAP account in the left-hand pane, and after that under the Receive Mail Items area pick either to “Download full things” or “Use the custom actions specified below”.

Personally I would certainly advise using the custom habits and just downloading and install total items for the Inbox folder. You’ll have to choose “Download total product consisting of attachments” to flip the button.
